The Union Army used this station during the American Civil War. General Andrade sold this land to the California Development Company.Ī former stage station for mail transport, Pilot Knob Station, served as a stop in this area before 1877 when the railroad ultimately arrived. Mexican General Guillermo Andrade (1833-1905) founded the original settlement of Andrade, California.
